The ASPA board has four positions and this year the two positions that come available are:

  • Vice-President
  • Treasurer

DUTIES OF THE VICE PRESIDENT

The Vice President shall assist the President, and in the absence or incapacity of the  President, shall preside and perform the duties of that office. The Vice President will perform such additional duties as directed by the Board from time to time. If the President cannot complete the term of office for any reason, the Vice President automatically becomes Acting President for the balance of the term unless otherwise decided by a majority vote of the board. If the Vice President cannot assume the role of Acting President, the Board shall vote on a replacement from elected Officers for that position, which must be ratified at the following AGM.

DUTIES OF THE TREASURER - General

The Treasurer shall keep full and accurate accounts of all receipts and disbursements, and deposit all monies in the name or to the credit of the Association. The Treasurer is responsible for dispersing funds. Cheques must be signed by the Treasurer and the President or one other Executive member on the Board. The Treasurer will monitor and report on (or act as) the Association’s bookkeeper who is responsible for all banking and accounting functions as outlined below. The Treasurer must submit a year end financial report to the Membership at the AGM and is required to attend the Post AGM Planning Meeting after the term of office expires.
